H - Wait...

El froze and listened for a moment, her eyes glued to his face as he tensed.  Then she heard it to their left beyond the clearing.  There was the telltale sliding and the small grunting that indicated it had already scented them.  She tore her gaze away from him to look at Avery, her eyes intense.  She had to get her out of here.

"Grayson."

He snapped his attention to her and she pointed to Avery, who was looking between them with confusion, "Get her out of here."  She stepped up to him and glared at him, "And so help me if a hair on her head is harmed.  I will make you my main priority and I will succeed where others have failed."

He blinked at her in surprise before frowning, "I'm not leaving you to fight a lagthor by yourself.  You'll get killed."

The grin she shot him was sharp and anything but happy, "You've never seen a Hunter fight then."  She jabbed her finger at her Link, "Get her out of here and get her safe."

And then she tore off into the forest directly towards the lagthor.
